Medical Dermatology

Medical Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with skin and its diseases. It’s a unique specialty, with both medical and surgical aspects.

Dr. Lisa Fay is a GP with a special interest in Dermatology, and treats patients with a wide range of issues from acne to rosacea, pigmented lesions, growths and moles.

The skin is the largest organ of the body and can be prone to a variety of problems, requiring the attention of a medical dermatologist.

As Slievemore Clinic is a doctor-led practice, patients can be clinically assessed, advised and treated for many chronic skin complaints.

Slievemore Clinic can perform minor surgery to address skin issues, including the removal of suspicious moles, skin tags, warts or lesions.

Minor surgery requires only local anaesthetic, and involves techniques such as curetting (scraping), suturing (stiches), small incisions or removal of sebaceous cysts.

Cryotherapy (freezing) is used to treat seborrhoeic warts, skin tags and verrucae.
