Bothered by the appearance of unsightly leg veins!

Leg Vein Treatment

Below is a brief explanation of your possible treatment options. Treatment options depend on the vein size and type.

  • Spider Veins
  • Blue Reticular Veins
  • Varicose Veins

Treatment options include sclerotherapy injections and lasers, which allows veins of all sizes to be successfully treated. Blue veins are typically treated with sclerotherapy; smaller red veins respond best to treatment with Nd:YAG lasers.

If you suffer varicose veins, endovenous laser treatments are very successful.

Sclerotherapy therapy involves injecting chemical solutions into the veins, sealing them shut. Sclerotherapy injections are very effective. Success rates range between 50% to 90% depending on the number and severity of your veins. Usually four to five treatment sessions are recommended. Following each treatment, it is recommended that you wear support stockings for up to 10 days in order to achieve best results.

Varicose veins do not respond to sclerotherapy or Nd: YAG lasers. Endovenous laser  treatments are the treatment of choice. This treatment works when the energy form the laser seals the vein’s wall and cutting off the blood supply to the varicose veins.

Contact Dr. Lisa Fay at CosmeticDoctor.ie, Dublin to find out more about sclerotherapy or Nd: Yag treatments. Please note, we do not provide endovenous laser ablation at our clinic.
