Profractional Laser Treatment

Profractional laser is a skin maintenance treatment designed to refresh and rejuvenate the skin. It’s effective for addressing issues like texture, fine lines, and uneven tone. We can also pair it with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) or other topical products post-treatment to enhance results.

The treatment process

During your consultation, we’ll discuss your health history to ensure this treatment is right for you. For example, we’ll check if you’ve used Accutane in the last year, and we’ll review other factors like pregnancy, nursing, or any conditions like autoimmune disorders.
The process begins with a thorough cleanse, followed by applying a strong numbing cream to ensure comfort. After about an hour, we’ll remove the numbing agent, prep the skin, and begin the laser treatment.
You may feel slight discomfort, especially if we’re targeting deeper areas, but our numbing process significantly minimises this.

Sara is very knowledgeable and makes you feel at ease. I am delighted with the treatment I received (BBL/silk clear) to clear my rosacea. Communication was always clear and I love the results. Looking forward to my next visit :-)

I suffer with rosacea which has gotten progressively worse in my 30s. I also did not like all the pigmentation on my face from years of sun damage. I got BBL laser done with Sarah as this was highly recommended for pigmentation and redness. I couldn't recommend Sarah enough, she was so friendly, knowledgeable and informative and great at keeping me calm during the treatment. I had some redness directly after the treatment which subsided within a couple hours and my skin has not looked better in months. Can't wait for the final result. If you have been considering BBL do not hesitate and book it, you wont regret it. Many thanks to Sarah, looking forward to my next visit.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What should I avoid before the treatment?

Ideally, avoid blood thinners (like Advil, fish oil) for three days prior. We also recommend avoiding alcohol the night before, as these can increase pinpoint bleeding during the procedure. If you’re on prescription blood thinners, we’ll discuss your options during the consultation.

What if I have a history of cold sores?

If you’re prone to cold sores, we may suggest taking antiviral medications such as acyclovir or Valtrex to reduce any risk of flare-ups post-treatment.

Is recent sun exposure a problem?

With Profractional, mild sun exposure isn’t typically a concern since it’s a water-targeting laser. However, we advise against recent tanning, as that can increase sensitivity.

What about swelling?

Some swelling can occur, especially under the eyes. To manage this, we may suggest cold soaks, elevated sleeping, or even prescribed medications if needed.

How should I care for my skin afterward?

Post-treatment, we’ll apply Aquaphor and go over a detailed post-care plan. Key points include using a gentle cleanser, avoiding any exfoliating products, and staying hydrated. For the first night, simply reapply Aquaphor as needed.

How long is the downtime?

Typically, downtime is about five to seven days. Most clients see the skin looking its worst the morning after the treatment, but improvement is noticeable by day three. You’ll experience some peeling and dryness as the skin heals.

Can I wear makeup post-treatment?

Avoid makeup for the first week, except for tinted sunscreens in a pump form. Avoid brushes or compacts to minimise the risk of bacteria transfer.

How soon will I see results?

Skin typically begins showing improvement within five to seven days as redness subsides and healing progresses. Full results develop over 30 to 60 days as collagen builds, enhancing skin texture and tone.

If you’re considering Profractional laser treatment, book a consultation with our experienced team to discuss your options and find out if this is the right choice for you.
