Facial Veins

Facial veins, ranging in size and colour, can be challenging to conceal with makeup and are equally common among men and women. These veins may develop for various reasons, such as outdoor exposure, smoking, genetic predisposition, or conditions like rosacea. At our clinic, we offer advanced laser treatments to effectively reduce and remove facial veins, restoring a clear, even complexion

Facial veins can appear for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Outdoor Lifestyle: Sun exposure and wind can lead to broken capillaries and veins over time.
  • Smoking: This habit weakens blood vessels, making facial veins more prominent.

  • Rosacea: This skin condition can increase the likelihood of facial redness and visible veins.

Our Treatment Options

To address facial veins, we offer a combination of Broad Band Light (BBL) and advanced laser technologies:

  • BBL (Broad Band Light): This technology uses light energy to target and reduce the appearance of facial veins, redness, and sunspots.
  • Clear V (ND-YAG Laser): Highly effective for treating specific, visible veins (telangiectasia) on the face.
  • Clear Silk: Targets background redness and surface flushing, enhancing overall skin tone.

A typical course of treatment includes three sessions, spaced one month apart. For patients prone to facial veins, we suggest three maintenance treatments annually. However, the exact frequency may vary depending on individual needs and budget.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

  1. Preparation: A cooling gel is applied to your skin, and you’ll wear protective eyewear to shield against the bright light.
  1. BBL Treatment: Using our BBL laser with a chilled tip, we gently pass the device over your skin. You may feel a mild sensation, like a snap of an elastic band, which is usually well-tolerated.
  1. Post-Treatment: After your session, your skin may appear slightly red, with any targeted veins or capillaries appearing more visible for a brief period. This reaction indicates effective targeting of the veins and generally subsides within a few days to a week.

Aftercare and Recovery

  • Redness and Swelling: Slight redness, swelling, or bruising can occur but can be easily concealed with makeup.
  • Downtime: You can resume normal activities the day after your treatment.
  • Results: Visible improvements usually appear as the redness subsides and veins diminish.
