Intimate Areas & Underarm Pigmentation

If you’re struggling with pigmentation in sensitive areas like the intimate region or underarms—whether due to friction, trauma, infections, or rashes—Dermamelan Intimate offers a gentle, effective solution. This clinically recognized treatment is specially formulated to target stubborn pigmentation and is safe for all skin types, from Type I to Type VI.

About the Dermamelan Intimate Treatment

Dermamelan Intimate is a specialised in-clinic treatment that targets persistent pigmentation in delicate areas. This multi-step treatment, which combines a professional procedure with a homecare regimen, helps achieve lasting improvements in skin brightness and evenness.

Preparing for Your Treatment

Hair Removal Requirements

The area must be hair-free prior to treatment. We recommend shaving 72 hours beforehand, following the direction of hair growth to avoid irritation. For those using IPL, laser, or waxing, ensure a 72-hour gap before treatment.

Recommended Cleanser

For gentle cleansing, use Hydra Milk Cleanser on the intimate area. This product is recommended for external use only to maintain hygiene and comfort.

Dermamelan Intimate Treatment Process

In-Clinic Steps

A trained professional performs the Dermamelan Intimate treatment, which includes:

  1. Prep Peel: Applied for 7-10 minutes to ready the skin.
  2. Intimate Mask Application:
  • Left on for 3-4 hours in intimate areas and 2 hours for underarms.
  • Clients are encouraged to remain close to the clinic for support during this time.
  1. Post-Procedure Soothing Mask: A crystal fibre mask is applied for 10-15 minutes after the treatment to calm and hydrate the skin.

Treatment Duration

  • Intimate Area: 3-4 hours
  • Underarms: 2 hours

At-Home Care Protocol

Starting 48 hours post-treatment, clients begin applying the Dermamelan Intimate Gel Cream. Here’s a breakdown of the routine:

  • Application Frequency: Apply the gel cream once daily in the evening.
  • Recommended Duration: Use for at least 45 days; however, we recommend continuing for 90 days (2 bottles) for more persistent pigmentation.
  • Optional Extended Use: After 90 days, clients may continue using the cream if desired for ongoing maintenance.

Extra Tips

  • Avoid wearing delicate or light-colored underwear during home treatment, as the cream may stain fabric.
  • For the best results, avoid treatments such as waxing 24 hours post-treatment and refrain from shaving for 7 days.

Additional Considerations

  • Lifestyle Factors: Pigmentation may recur due to friction from clothing or other factors. The treatment can be repeated after 9 months if necessary.
  • Intimate Activity: Safe to resume 48 hours post-treatment. Apply the homecare cream only after this time to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Cold Sores: For those prone to cold sores, we recommend taking a 3-day course of 400mg Acyclovir before the treatment. Dermamelan Intimate is not recommended for individuals with active herpes infections.

Post-Treatment Care

  • Underarm Deodorant: Avoid deodorant for 48 hours post-treatment. Once resumed, apply only in the morning after cleansing.
  • Sensitive Skin Care: Some tingling or sensitivity may occur initially but usually subsides within a week.
  • Peel Neutralisation: Your practitioner will thoroughly neutralise the initial peel before proceeding with the mask to ensure comfort and safety.
