What is Contour TRL?
Contour TRL is a full-field erbium resurfacing laser. Unlike fractional lasers (such as Halo), which treat tiny columns of skin, Contour TRL treats the entire skin surface in the chosen area. This allows it to precisely remove layers of damaged skin and stimulate new collagen, producing dramatic, long-lasting results.
While Contour TRL can be used anywhere on the face, it is particularly effective for:
• Wrinkles around the upper lip (“smoker’s lines” or “lipstick lines”)
• Chin lines and marionette lines
• Crepey, etched skin around the mouth

Because Contour TRL is more intensive, we make the procedure as comfortable as possible by using:
• Dental block anesthesia (similar to numbing used at the dentist)
• Topical anesthetic cream
• In some cases, laughing gas (nitrous oxide) for additional comfort
Contour TRL is more aggressive than fractional lasers, so the healing process takes longer:
• First 7–10 days: redness, swelling, peeling, and crusting as the skin heals.
• 2–3 weeks: redness gradually fades.
• Several weeks after: skin tone continues to improve as new collagen develops.
We often recommend LED light therapy, exosome treatments, or special skincare products to speed up healing and reduce redness.
